One of our more popular programs is designing and producing Military Tribute Banners. These commemorative banner programs, also known as Hometown Heroes, Veteran Honor Banners, and Our Fallen Heroes, among others, are chosen by many communities that wish to acknowledge and honor those local individuals who have answered the call to be of service to their country. Unlike the more traditional, colorful downtown banner programs that promote community spirit or display welcoming invitations to “Shop, Dine & Enjoy,” our Veteran tribute banners are more somber in theme and offer a reflective and respectful design that is in keeping with the program’s intent
Honoring Those Who Honor Us With Their Service
Our Hometown Hero banners are the best way to give living tribute to recognize and honor those serving or serving the country in the United States Armed Forces. You can get veteran banners with the information of a single person, including their name, photo, and branch of service. These banners are essential because:
- HELP NEVER TO FORGET: Our Hometown Heroes Banner Program has been designed to help people never forget those brave men and women who have served the nation in the past and those who are serving our country today. Our veteran banners celebrate the lives of individuals who have served and sacrificed for the country.
- HONOR THE MILITARY: The idea behind creating hometown hero’s banners is to honor the individuals serving the nation and those who have served and sacrificed their lives to defend our country.
Our Creative Services team will work with you step-by-step and guide you on the best processes to gather the required materials, such as photographs, copy, and design requirements, to ensure that every military tribute banner represents your loved one’s contribution in the most fitting and honorable fashion.
As a nod to the sign of the times, some communities have expanded their Veteran Tribute Banner programs to include military personnel and the equally selfless group of first responders such as front-line healthcare workers, police, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians.
We have heard firsthand from many individuals how a gesture as simple and ordinary as military tribute banners on a pole has created a groundswell of community pride and a spirit of togetherness.
How Can We Be Of Service?
Suppose you are looking for help to guide you through building awareness in your community. Material Promotions can help by giving you the necessary tools to set up your program, engage your community, and ensure a successful launch of your Hometown Hero banner project. We are committed to your success and will guide you step by step through the process. Unlike many other banner programs where the artwork and designs are simple and consistent across all banners, Hometown Hero banner projects, by nature, have unique images and copy on every military banner, which may include the individual’s name, rank, branch of service, years served, medals received, and names of those who may be sponsoring the banner in their honor, among other things.
With our experience managing and executing thousands of Hometown Hero banner projects, we have the expertise and processes to ensure your program is a complete success from start to finish.
Once we have your commitment to working together on your banner project, you will be assigned a member of our Graphic Design team to work with you, step by step, throughout the process. Your Design Consultant will contact you via email and begin the process.
This email will include all your information regarding the Hometown Hero / Veteran tribute banner process.
The first step in the design process will be to choose a template. These are all completely customizable to change text, colors, etc. Once you’ve made that decision and decided on the size of banners you need, we will revise your chosen template to your specifications. View our Hometown Hero Designs Here.
Your Design Consultant will work with you on perfecting your template so it’s exactly the way you’d like and will save that file so it’s ready to go once you submit the veteran information and photos.
The files and information we will need to put together the veteran banners have two main components:
- A spreadsheet with all of the veteran information should be included on the banners.
The spreadsheet should be formatted as follows:
- (1) row per banner/hero
- (1) column per LINE on the banner (you will know this once we decide on the layout)
- text should be typed as you want it to be shown on the banners
For example, if you want banners to say “U.S. Army,” please type “U.S.” and not “U.S. “
If military rank information is included on the veteran banner and is in the same line as the veteran’s name, please abbreviate the ranks.
- A folder/file/download link containing a photograph of each hero:
- Name each picture with the corresponding number on the spreadsheet and the veteran’s name, for example,
“001 Milton Wilkerson.jpg “
“001 Wilkerson.pdf “
- photos should be in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or PDF format
- we often see generic images (silhouettes) or military branch seals used when a hero’s photo cannot be obtained
At Material Promotions, we offer high-quality hometown hero banners printed on premium blockout vinyl. We provide the best hardware comprising cast aluminum brackets and fiberglass arms with reinforced sleeves for easy installation and long life. We also have black powder-coated banner bracket bases to complement the more decorative, often painted black lamp posts.
Our Hometown Heroes banners are ideal for the Veterans Day celebration on November 11. Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans – living or dead. The purpose of our veteran banners is to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice with their lives for this country. While many communities run these programs throughout the year, many programs are launched for a Memorial Day start and run through Veterans Day. At that point, many communities opted to change the program with seasonal, holiday, or winter-designed banners, followed by spring designs that were replaced with the Hometown Hero banners in May.
Specializing in outdoor banner designing and printing, we have earned our reputation by offering high-quality products and superior customer service. Our knowledgeable and highly professional staff members can help you enhance the beauty and success of your seasonal or community celebration.
